Meet the Team
Stumpy Gully Vineyard remains the pride and joy of the Zantvoort family, who settled in Australia in 1980 and planted their first vines at Mooroduc on the Mornington Peninsula in 1989.
Frank Zantvoort, Owner
Frank started as physiotherapist back in Holland where he owned his own practice. His love for nature and all living things eventually found its expression in viticulture after he moved to Australia in the early eighties with his wife Wendy and four children. Frank remains a very active kind of guy, with a passion for windsurfing and kite surfing when he’s not working at the vineyard.
Wendy Zantvoort, Owner and Winemaker
After settling in Australia with husband Frank, Wendy completed a Wine Science degree at Charles Sturt University while also managing a physiotherapy practice and raising four children. As a passionate winemaker she’s very hands-on through the whole process and also handles the majority of the winery’s administration.
Michael Zantvoort, Winemaker
Michael grew up among the vines, learning about wine making from his parents, and has done everything on the vineyard from planting to bottling. He’s usually found working around the Stumpy Gully Vineyard or on the road meeting various clients in Melbourne and Sydney. He studied Viticulture and Wine Growing at Wagga and loves camping and spending time with his three girls.
Elizabeth Zantvoort, Administration Assistant
Michael’s wife Elizabeth works part-time in the office at Stumpy Gully and also enjoys being a mum to her three daughters.
Brian Sinclair, Brand Manager – Melbourne
Brian has been in the wine industry for over ten years now, the majority of those years have been with Stumpy Gully.
Having done an extensive range of vineyard & winery work with the Zantvoorts, Brian has a great passion & appreciation for the wines that Stumpy Gully has become very well known for.
