Estate grown, produced and bottled at Stumpy Gully Vineyard. 100% Marsanne.Tasting notes: pale yellow straw colour: soft honey and light citrus aromas are complemented by more austere chalky/spicy characters, distinctive of Marsanne. The palate is zesty, rich and lively with a long dry finish. Delicately ripened fruit enhanced by barrel fermentation and maturation on lees in mature oak, this wine is underrated as a delicious alternative to Chardonnay. With further ageing, the 2010Stumpy Gully Marsanne will develop into a complex wine with bottle-aged characters and a firm round palate.CELLAR DOOR RELEASE. Currently the 2010 vintage is sold out, the 2011 is maturing beautifully in oak, James Halliday has suggested to be patient, we might bottle in February 2012.
